Litigation and Divorce
Eric is a Partner at Cramer Pelmont. He has over 17 years experience in advising both individuals and corporate entities in litigious disputes. Before joining us in October 2009, he worked for the same City fringe practice for 15 years.
Eric's two main areas of expertise are in commercial litigation and medium to high value divorce cases. From Eric's perspective these two apparently diverse areas of practice have much in common especially in terms of obtaining the best financial outcome for his clients.
Eric has represented a wide variety of non-listed Companies throughout his career on a range of contentious issues. His cases have ranged from relatively straightforward contractual disputes to highly complex derivative actions. He has extensive experience in all divisions of the High Court and also in the County Courts (although concentrating mainly on multi track claims). In the County Court he will draft and advocate where appropriate. In High Court cases he has developed close working relationships with a variety of specialist Counsel.
In all commercial disputes Eric will strive to give his clients the best possible advice, especially as to:
With divorce clients, Eric's aim is to attain the best possible outcome in terms of stress reduction and fiscal satisfaction. Although he deals with children's matters within divorce proceedings he does not take instructions on free standing Children's Act applications. In a nutshell, he considers himself a litigator in divorce situations; that is to say that although his primary objective will always be to attempt to reach a successful settlement through negotiation there are often situations where divorcing couples reach an impasse. It is in those situations that clients appreciate a strong litigation presence at their side.
